Our Story

In 1964 Richard “Dick” Thomas and Robert “Wimpy” Little started their dream, of owning and operating Thomas-Little Funeral Service, Inc. Dick’s father, previously owning our Oakdale location, taught and brought in both his son, Dick and Mr. Little, where they eventually bought the business and soon opened their second location. In 1973 Thomas-Little Funeral Service, Inc. reached into the community of Imperial, where Dick and Wimpy built their first funeral home from the ground up. And throughout the years two other funeral homes were purchased, our locations in McDonald and Midway. Mr. Little unfortunately passed in 1999. After his passing. Mr. Thomas continued to work within the funeral home after selling to another firm for a short period of time. That is when current owner, Patrick Konieczny, originally from Mt. Pleasant, came into the Thomas-Little picture. Mr. Thomas became a mentor to Patrick, introducing him into the community and teaching him how to be a small town funeral director. In 2006, Patrick and his wife officially bought all four Thomas-Little locations. Three years later Mr. Thomas sadly passed away. After many years Patrick decided to expand his business. In 2019, he remodeled our Imperial location and added a crematory to better serve the changing funeral industry.

Currently, Patrick is still owner and working around the clock. He has hired other funeral directors to accommodate his growing business. Patrick plans to continue the Thomas-Little legacy, as his daughter Mya Konieczny Garrett is licensed funeral director working at all four locations. She has even begun helping Patrick with the ever changing industry, by working with her dog, Gus to become a certified emotional support dog. Gus works in each funeral home with every family.

A Letter from Patrick

To all the families I have served throughout the years, and the ones I still have yet to meet, thank you. Your generosity and support throughout our many years together, has meant more to me than you will ever know. From a honk when we pass each other in town, to a yearly Christmas card that is sent to my family and me. You are what makes this job so rewarding. Each one of you have become a part of my family and I am very thankful you opened your arms and allowed me to support you in your time of need.
